Joseph P. Murphy

Joseph P. Murphy, 77 yrs old, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 25 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born and raised in Everett, raised a family in Malden, and spent his retirement years in West Peabody. He was married to his wife Betty for 53 years and they have 3 children together. He was a Knight with the Everett order of The Knights of Columbus. He was a baseball coach for Everett Youth League during the 80’s and a softball coach in Malden for the Over 40 League in the 90’s. He and Betty liked to spend time together traveling and enjoyed their timeshare in Aruba. He will be remembered for his love of music, family and Boston sports teams. Those who knew him can attest to his enthusiasm he had about his sports and the deep knowledge he liked to pass down to his grandkids and anyone who would listen. 
He leaves behind his wife Betty of West Peabody, his son Paul and wife Dawn of Center Barnstead NH, his son Robert and wife Paige of West Peabody, and his daughter Coleen and husband Ryan of Haverhill. His grandchildren Haley Murphy, Ethan Murphy, Beau Murphy, Liam Murphy, Matthew Isenburg, Danielle Dunn, Kevin Cotter, Jay Cotter, Nicholas Cotter, Brittany McPeak, Austin McPeak, Gabriel McPeak, and Nadia Millis. His great-grandchildren Noah DiRosa, Killian Dunn, Declan Dunn, Ellie Dunn, Hayden Cotter, and Dakota Cotter. A special thank you to David White and to the staff at Kaplan House Danvers.
